Meet the Sinn Féin leadership including Adams and McDonald in Strokestown tomorrow night
Sinn Féin’s Roscommon South Leitrim by election candidate Cllr Martin Kenny has invited members of the public to take up the opportunity to meet the Sinn Féin leadership at the Percy French Hotel in Strokestown tomorrow (Monday) evening. Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD, Deputy Leader Mary Lou McDonald, Finance Spokesperson Pearse Doherty and MEP Matt Carthy will be in attendance.
Cllr Kenny said
“Sinn Féin is presenting the people of Roscommon and South Leitrim with a clear alternative to the failed politics of the past. Tomorrow night members of the party leadership including Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD, Deputy Leader Mary Lou McDonald, Finance Spokesperson Pearse Doherty and MEP Matt Carthy will be setting out that alternative and engaging with the public about the kind of change Sinn Féin is setting out to achieve.
“The McNulty/Humphreys Seanad fiasco has been a timely reminder that we need to break with the politics of cronyism and jobs for the boys that happens every time Fianna Fáil or Fine Gael gets into government. It shows that we need to break with the failed politics of the past – of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael - and make the change to the an alternative based on fairness, equality and Irish unity being put forward by Sinn Féin.
“A vote for Sinn Féin in this by election is a vote for the abolition of the property tax and water charges. It is a vote for a better and fairer deal for the majority of ordinary Irish people who have unjustly been forced to carry the burden of cuts, taxes and charges over recent years. It is a vote for a fair deal for rural communities.
“I would encourage anyone who sick and tired of crony politics and the ineffective political representation that we have had in the past to come along tomorrow night and listen to what the Sinn Féin leadership have to say.”
