Adams welcomes recovery of remains in Meath

Sinn Féin Leader Gerry Adams TD has welcomed news that a team searching for the body of Belfast man Brendan Megraw have found human remains in County Meath.

Gerry Adams said:

“I welcome the fact that a team searching for the remains Brendan Megraw, one of the people killed by the IRA during the course of the conflict and secretly buried, have found human remains in County Meath.

“I hope the identity of the remains can be quickly verified and that this discovery will bring some closure to the family and loved ones of Brendan Megraw.

“I would also appeal to anyone with any information on the whereabouts of any of the Disappeared to contact the Commission for the Recovery of Victims Remains.

“Any information passed to the Commission cannot be used in a court of law or transmitted to any other agency and those passing on this information have absolute immunity in relation to this information.”
