Anderson meets North West Regional College head
Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has said the North West Regional College can play a major role in the regeneration of Derry.
Speaking after meeting with the recently appointed head of the North West Regional College (NWRC), Leo Murphy, today, Ms Anderson said;
"I met with NWRC principal Leo Murphy and Bridgetia Kelly from the College's business support centre today to discuss plans to develop the college.
"It was a positive meeting and we discussed the exciting developments planned for the college in the future, including closer co-operation with the University of Ulster at Magee.
"Education can play a major role in the regeneration of Derry and the wider north west. I am committed to supporting educational institutions for all levels of learners with courses tailored to meet the demands of a changing modern economy.
"Increased co-operation between the North West Regional College and Magee will create additional opportunities for young people in business and the creative industries.
"Huge possibilities exist in Europe to support and develop our further and higher education sectors. I will continue to work to ensure the best possible educational outcomes for young people and the local economy."
