Ó Muilleoir calls for solidarity with victims of racist attack
Sinn Féin Councillor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir has condemned racist attacks against families in south Belfast last night. And he called on political, community and faith leaders to show practical solidarity with the victims.
The South Belfast councillor was speaking after he visited the victims of last night’s attacks on a home and a car in Ulsterville Avenue.
Máirtín Ó Muilleoir said:
“I condemn these attacks outright, there is no room for racism anywhere in our society.
“I visited the homes of the families who are the victims of what was a terrifying experience. I'm glad that no one was injured.
“However, I call on political, community and faith leaders in the area to demonstrate solidarity with the families. We must send out the message that those behind the attacks do not represent the people of Belfast.
"I would urge anyone with information on these attacks to come forward and bring it to the PSNI."
