Vote and protest against water charges – Gerry Adams
Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams TD has urged voters to support Sinn Féin this Friday in the Dublin South West and Roscommon/South Leitrim by-elections. Mr Adams has also encouraged those against the water charges to join a state-wide protest march this Saturday.
Gerry Adams TD said:
“Voters in Dublin South West and in Roscommon/South Leitrim face an important choice this Friday. They can choose between the failed politics of the past – the politics of Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Labour - and the alternative offered by Sinn Féin.
“Our by-election candidates, Cllr Martin Kenny in Roscommon-South Leitrim and Cllr Cathal King in Dublin South West, are people of integrity who are committed to Sinn Féin’s vision of equality and social justice.
“A vote for Sinn Féin this Friday is a vote for a clear, workable and fairer alternative to the way the government is doing things. A vote for us is a vote against the water charges.
“We also urge everybody to show their opposition to the water charges by participating in a state wide protest march taking place in Dublin on Saturday. Sinn Féin is centrally involved in the Right2Water campaign.
“The Right2Water campaign is committed to abolishing domestic water charges. Everyone who opposes this charge should join with us on the march which kicks off at 2pm in the Garden of Remembrance.
“Vote for us on Friday and march with us on Saturday to put an end to the water charges.”
