Support for Carndonagh community needed – Cllr Albert Doherty

28 October, 2014

Sinn Fein Councillor for Inishowen Albert Doherty has called for the HSE to outline the supports and services that can be made available to those in the community who have been traumatised by the recent tragic deaths of Jimmy and Kathleen Cuddihy.

He said;

"The recent tragic deaths of Jimmy and Kathleen following on from other recent tragedies has left the local community numbed and in need of access to supports."

"I am calling on the HSE to roll out an action plan and an information campaign to provide counselling and other supports to those in need at this difficult time for the community."

"I also want to echo a call by a member of the family for those in the community with concerns to seek help".

Cllr Doherty concluded by paying tribute to the emergency personnel and others who have been directly involved and of assistance and have offered support and consolation to the grieving family in recent days.
