McMullan seeks clarity over Larne Caterpillar jobs
Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan is seeking an urgent meeting with management at Caterpillar to discuss concerns over jobs at the company's Larne plant.
Speaking after the company announced that jobs will be lost at its operations in the North, the East Antrim MLA said;
"There is concern in the Larne area following the announcement that Caterpillar is planing to shed jobs at its operations across the North.
"I have written to management at Caterpillar asking for an urgent meeting to discuss concerns about jobs at the company's plant at Larne.
"I will be asking for clarity on Caterpillar's plans for its future at Larne and seeking to allay the fears of the workers at the plant.
"Larne is an area that cannot afford to lose any more jobs and I would encourage Caterpillar to work with unions to ensure the future of the company in the area."
