Cllr Janice Boylan calls on the government utilise all resources available to tackle homelessness
Dublin Sinn Féin City councillor Janice Boylan has called on the government to utilise all resources available to alleviate in the homeless crisis in the city, in light of the recent death of Jonathan Corrie.
Speaking today Cllr Boylan said:
“The government needs to look at every option open to it including using state buildings. An example would be Saint Bricin's, which is a fully equipped military hospital, with a kitchen and 140 beds with just two in use at the moment. With the cold and harsh winter now upon us and the festive season looming, nobody should be without a bed this Christmas.
With housing lists growing and homelessness rising, every resource at the state’s disposal should be used to help tackle this problem.”
