Corduff community excluded in Minister Varadkar photo op- Cllr Paul Donnelly
Dublin West Sinn Féin representative Cllr Paul Donnelly has expressed his outrage at the exclusion of the Corduff community for the “turning of the sod” Primary Care Centre in Corduff.
Cllr Donnelly said “I have been informed that the Minster for Health Mr Leo Varadkar is to pay a flying visit to the Corduff community to “turn the sod” on the new multi million euro Primary Care centre on Friday 12th.
“What is outrageous is that this no one in the community, including those who fought for over a decade to get the funding were invited. Also local Councillors for the Corduff community were not informed either as is normal practice for events like this
Minister Varadkar is using Corduff only for a photo opportunity for his monthly newsletter, the community and its people are secondary to this political show.”
However this primary care centre means much more to the Corduff Community. It means that they can finally access proper health care in their community. Young people will be able to access mental health services.
I welcome the people’s initiative today to have their own “turning of the sod” ceremony on the site. This is much more appropriate than the flying visit of Minister Varadkar."
