27 December, 2014

Ballymun Sinn Féin Councillor Noeleen Reilly is calling on Dublin City Council to secure the funding to insulate the remaining houses in Ballymun.

She said,

‘I think the council staff in Ballymun has done an amazing job in securing funding for retrofitting in Ballymun. There are approximately only 187 homes to be completed and I think it is an important step to finish it off as some of the houses that are left would be the older houses in the area. I recently had a motion passed at the Northwest area meeting calling for the remaining houses to be completed as soon as possible. ‘

She further added,

‘There is also the possibility of private homes being completed as grants are available from SEAI under the warmer homes scheme. The criteria for this scheme are Owner occupied non-Local Authority homes, Constructed before 2006, the owner is in receipt of one of the following: No Fuel Allowance as part of the National Fuel Scheme, on Job Seekers Allowance for over six months and with children under 7 years of age, on Family Income Supplement.
