People need to live free from sectarian intimidation and hatred - Cllr McCabe
Sinn Féin Councillor Gerard McCabe has said that people shouldn’t have to live in fear due to sectarian attacks on their homes.
Speaking after two homes were targeted last night in a sectarian attack Councillor McCabe stated,
“I visited the two families who were targeted in a sectarian attack last night and both families are fearful of further attacks due to the tensions in the area arising out of the illegal protest camp at Twadwell Avenue.
“These attacks are wrong and Unionist community leaders need to do more to ensure that they are brought to an end.
"The continuing illegal protest at Twadwell is doing nothing to either resolve the issues around parading or reducing sectarian tensions in the area.
"I would appeal to anyone with information to bring it to the PSNI immediately."
