McAleer urges minister to act to resolve water disruption
Sinn Féin MLA Declan McAleer has urged the regional development minister to take urgent action to resolve the ongoing dispute, which has left 9,000 people without water.
The West Tyrone MLA said;
"Thousands of people across Tyrone, Fermanagh and county Derry have been left without water as a result of the ongoing dispute between trade unions and NI Water.
"I met with regional development minister Danny Kennedy yesterday to discuss this issue and urged him to recognise the urgency of this situation.
"I impressed on the minister the need for this matter to be resolved as soon as possible.
"I have also requested that a special meeting of the regional development committee be held with a specific focus on the disruption to water supply.
"As well as this I will also be raising the matter directly with the minister on the floor of the Assembly."
