NAMA must release property to help house 5366 housing applicants in North Central Dublin- Cllr Denise Mitchell
Sinn Féin representative for Beaumont-Donaghmede Denise Mitchell has called on NAMA to release property to house the thousands of applicants awaiting housing in the North Central area.
Speaking this morning on the issue Cllr Mitchell said:
“The housing waiting list in my area is now unacceptably high. I see families everyday desperately waiting on adequate housing for their families. I see parents looking for a safe place to raise their children.
There are currently 2880 families waiting to be housed and 2486 single applicants. No government housing strategy is appearing to have any impact on these numbers.
I am now calling on NAMA to release the property it has in the area for social housing before these figures get any higher.”
