Pedestrian crossing needed for Crumlin Village- Cllr Ray Mc Hugh

5 February, 2015 - by Ray McHugh

Local Sinn Féin Cllr Ray McHugh has requested a pedestrian crossing in Crumlin Village.

 Speaking today Cllr McHugh said:

“I put a request to Dublin City Council (DCC) for a pedestrian crossing in Crumlin Village at the Old Post Office and I welcome the recommendation from the Traffic Advisory Group of DCC that a pedestrian crossing at this location will be considered in future work programmes.”

 Cllr Mc Hugh added.

“The re-location of the post office to the new site has created a serious danger to our senior citizens and young mothers with prams crossing at this site, in order to collect pensions and children’s allowance.

It is a very busy stretch of road, with buses, trucks and cars passing at high speed. It is essential that DCC give priority to this issue in future works programmes in the area.”
