PSNI must release all files on Sean Brown murder
Sinn Féin MLA Ian Milne has said that the PSNI need to release all files in relation to the murder of Sean Brown not only the withheld HET report.
Mr Milne said,
“The family of Sean Brown has been waiting for nearly 17 years to have an inquest and find out the truth as to how he was killed.
“There has always been concerns about collusion between the RUC and the Unionist death squads involved in Sean’s murder.
“The failure of the PSNI to release the files on the case has only added to the suspicion of state sponsored collusion in the case.
“While the PSNI has today announced that the coroner will have access to the HET report into the murder it also said that it will take at least another 3 years before their owns files are ready to be handed over.
“This is a totally unacceptable timescale for these files to be prepared and the PSNI need to put the proper resources into making these files available to the coroner for the inquest to begin.
“It is important that the coroner has access to all files so that the family can get the inquest that they have campaigned for over all these years.”
