Ellis calls for alternative locations to be examined after Finglas Primary Care Centre planning application rejected
Sinn Féin Dublin North West TD Dessie Ellis has called on the HSE to meet with local activists, public representatives and council officials to re-examine alternative locations for the proposed Finglas Primary Care Centre in the wake of An Bord Pleanala's rejection of original planning application. He went on to say that the decision of An Bord Pleanala could not be allowed to jeopardise the entire project and so a new location for the centre must be agreed as soon as possible.
Deputy Ellis said;
"At the time this proposal was made I and other councillors put forward a number of sites which could be used for the centre which we felt would have been more appropriate. The HSE rejected these proposals on the grounds that the site at Mellowes Road was the only one that they would be prepared to seriously consider. It is now clear that An Bord Pleanala was unhappy with this site and that the concerns of some councillors, residents and myself have been vindicated.
The important step now is for the HSE to bring together local community activists, public representatives and council officials to begin to re-examine alternative locations for the primary care centre and to ensure that Finglas does not lose out on such a valuable community resource."
