McKay welcomes extra funding for Railway Street centre
Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has welcomed the announcement that funding has been made available to keep Railway Street addiction treatment centre in Ballymena open.
The North Antrim MLA said;
"The announcement that the Health and Social Care Board will provide funding for two clinical staff positions at Railway Street in Ballymena is welcome.
"This will ensure that essential treatment will continue to be provided at Railway Street.
"This latest funding announcement comes on the back of news that the Department of Justice has indicated funding will available for the criminal justice elements of the service for the next two years.
"While it is positive that additional funding has been secured, more is required to ensure the long-term future of this much-needed facility in Ballymena.
"Sinn Féin will continue to campaign for additional funding for Railway Street to keep this service in Ballymena."
