Fianna Fáil claims a sign of electoral desperation - Molloy
Sinn Féin MP Francie Molloy has described Fianna Fáil leader Micheal Martin's unfounded allegations against Sinn Féin in the Dáil yesterday as 'electoral desperation.'
And he challenged the Fianna Fail leader to name the 'very significant number of fictitious front organisations' and to detail where these groups received 'millions of pounds.'
The Mid Ulster MP said;
"Micheal Martin made ridiculous and unfounded accusations in the Dáil chamber about Sinn Féin renting offices from what he described as 'fictitious front organisations’.
"The reality is that rent is paid to a range of community organisations and private landlords for facilities, which enable Sinn Féin to deliver first-class representation to our electorate and which are at the heart of local communities.
"These latest remarks highlight the increasing desperation of Fianna Fáil when they are prepared to use the same shabby tactics often employed by unionists of hiding behind privilege.
"I challenge him to repeat this accusation outside the Dáil chamber and to name the organisations he is referring to.
"This is the same party who, through its relationship with the golden circle of bankers and financiers and grubby deals with planners, caused the economic crash and drove millions into poverty with its austerity agenda."
