Varadkar's immature attack on Sinn Féin not fooling anybody - Jonathan O'Brien TD
Sinn Féin TD Jonathan O'Brien has responded to Minister Leo Varadkar's attack on Sinn Féin at the Fine Gael National Conference.
Deputy O'Brien said;
"Minister Varadkar's time would be better spent reflecting on his own performance as Minister for Health.
"He is the Minister responsible for the dire overcrowding crisis in hospitals throughout this state.
"Minister Varadkar seems to be more concerned with engaging in immature attacks on his political opponents than with developing a credible strategy for dealing with this situation.
"It is a crisis that has left people being medically treated on trolleys in corridors instead of in hospital beds.
"These patients are in conditions that are far from the cosy atmosphere of Fine Gael National Conference where Minister Varadkar and his colleagues are spending the weekend patting themselves on the back for implementing policies which persecute the most vulnerable in society.
"Make no mistake, the buck stops with Leo Varadkar on that one.
"His attack on Sinn Féin is a sad attempt to deflect from the fact that he is failing miserably to meet the needs of citizens as Minister for health.
"He should focus on meeting that challenge rather than grandstanding for the media."
