Liadh Ní Riada MEP Supports ISPCC Shield Anti-bullying Campaign
Sinn Féin MEP for the South constituency Liadh Ní Riada has expressed her support for the ISPCC's Shield anti-bullying campaign following a meeting with the ISPCC advocacy team.
Ní Riada said;
“I am glad to offer my support to the ISPCC Shield anti-bullying campaign, which begins next week and runs for the whole month of March.
“The ISPCC do tremendous work in protecting, supporting and listening to children, and this initiative, which provides schools and clubs with resources to mark Anti-Bullying Month and to develop or renew their anti-bullying policies.
“I would encourage all schools and clubs to access the toolkit, which is available in English agus as Gaeilge, and to contact the ISPCC to provide tailored talks, and ongoing support.
“Bullying can have horrific and long-lasting affects on children, and it is vital that our young people can grow and learn in a supportive and nurturing environment. The Shield campaign is preventative and empowering and provides children with the skills to protect themselves from bullying.
