Anderson Denounces Israeli Land Grab
Speaking today from Strasbourg, Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has called on EU member states to denounce Israel’s intent to construct an additional 88 units in the illegal settlement of Ma’aleh Adumim.
The six counties MEP Chairs the European Parliaments Palestinian Delegation, Martina Anderson, who will again travel to Palestine later this month, said:
“I denounce this action by the Israeli authorities and I am calling upon other member states and representatives to join me in opposition to this action, which is a further attack on the Palestinian people.”
“The Palestinians have suffered enough at the hands of Israel.”
"Under International law such settlements are illegal the little land the Palestinians have left is being illegally confiscated piece by piece, by Israel. This is utterly deplorable.”
“The International community must not stand idly by, acting like observers to the suffering being inflicted on the Palestinian people.”
“It is time for action. I have repeatedly called for the EU to demonstrate its support for the people of Palestine by immediately suspending the EU-Israel Association Agreement and today I reiterate that call.”
