People of East Antrim need a strong voice against austerity - McMullan

20 March, 2015 - by Oliver McMullan

Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan has said the people of East Antrim need a strong voice for equality and to oppose austerity.

Speaking at the launch of his campaign for the East Antrim Westminster seat, Mr McMullan said;

"I am honoured and delighted to have been chosen to fight the Westminster election on behalf of Sinn Féin.

"The people of East Antrim need a strong voice to campaign on their behalf against the Tory cuts agenda of the British government.

"This is an area that has suffered lack of investment in the past and as a result the potential of East Antrim and its people is as yet unrealised.

"I have been a champion for rural and agricultural areas throughout the area, campaigning for equal access to services in order to combat regional disparity and rural isolation.

"This is an area in need of investment in tourism and entrepreneurship and I want to continue to build on the work that I have been carrying out on a daily basis for all the people of East Antrim.

"I am proud to be taking forward the banner of equality and opposition to cuts and austerity north and south."
