HSE has serious questions to answer on consultant cost and recruitment process - Mary Lou McDonald TD
Sinn Féin Public Expenditure spokesperson Mary Lou McDonald has said the HSE has serious questions to answer over the costs or outside consultations and investigations and the selection processes used to decide who carries them out.
Speaking today Deputy McDonald said;
“Revelations that several inquiries were commissioned by the HSE without a competitive tendering process have sparked alarm and it would seem that the HSE has serious questions to answer.
“There are also concerns surrounding the costs of inquiries with reports that some people are being paid a fee of nearly €1,000 per day.
“I look forward to the HSE appearing before the Public Accounts Committee in the coming weeks as it is important that they address these serious issues of public concern.”
