Cllr Lynam seeks support of Local Councillors to abolish Irish water.
Fingal Sinn Féin Cllr Philip Lynam has submitted a motion to Fingal County Council calling for the reversal of the Irish water bill introduced by the Fine Gael- Labour coalition government.
The motion also calls for Irish water to be abolished, which is a motion Cllr Lynam has had on the council agenda since November last.
Speaking today before the meeting Cllr Lynam said:
“I am calling for Fingal County Council to recognise the financial circumstances of many families in Fingal and throughout the state who are struggling to get by week to week.
I am also calling on the government to reverse the decision to charge people for water, abolish Irish Water and instead use monies allocated for future investment by Irish water to fix leaking pipes instead and not further burden families who cannot take anymore.”
