Cllr Danny O’Brien welcomes South Dublin County Council’s decision to clean up illegal dumping on Tandys Lane

17 April, 2015 - by Danny O'Brien

Cllr Danny O’Brien has today welcomed South Dublin County Council’s decision to close Tandys Lane, to clean up the illegal dumping in the area.

Speaking today Cllr O’Brien said:

“This decision is long overdue, as this area has been a black spot for litter for a long time. I originally made representations to the council last January to get this area cleaned up. Tandy’s Lane will be closed to traffic on Saturday the 25th of April from 5am to 12noon to facilitate this clean up.

An alternative route will be set up via Tandy’s Lane, Meadowview Grove, Hillcrest Heights, Hillcrest Road, Adamstown Road.

Illegal dumping and fly tipping has become a serious problem in South Dublin for the past number of years. This road was only closed and cleaned last year and it has to be done again this year. I would like to urge people if they see anyone illegally dumping in this area to contact the litter wardens or myself.”
