Kelly welcomes withdrawal of application for Glengormley march
Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly has welcomed the withdrawal of an application for an Orange Order march in Glengormley.
The North Belfast MLA said;
“I welcome the news that the application for this Orange March past Nationalist homes and the Children'’s Hospice in Glengormley has been withdrawn.
“This same application had been rejected in the reverse order by the Parades Commission last week and reapplying made no sense.
“The resolution to contentious parades is through direct dialogue and this application only served to raise tensions.
“The withdrawal of this march clearly shows that it was unwanted, unnecessary and had no chance of being granted given last week’s Parades Commission decision.”
