Last night's pipe bomb attack in Cherry Orchard threatened the whole community- Cllr Doolan

10 May, 2015 - by Daithí Doolan

Ballyfermot City Councillor Daithí Doolan has said that last night's pipe bomb attack in Cherry Orchard threatened the whole community.

Cllr Doolan commented:

"Last night's pipe bomb on Cherry Orchard Ave was attack on a decent hard working community. Cherry Orchard is full of hard working families who want the best for themselves, their children and their neighbours. Last night’s attack was wrong. It was unacceptable and put the lives of people at risk.

"Ballyfermot has witnessed too many violent crimes recently. This regime of terror must be brought to an end. Gardaí must be given adequate resources to tackle this violent crime. The Minister for Justice must act now and provide extra Gardaí as a matter urgency before there is a loss of life. Spin does not solve crime or protect communities. Extra resources do.

"I am appealing to this government to wake up to the crisis and support, serve and protect our community."
