Only a Sinn Féin TD will strengthen the voice of Carlow Kilkenny at national level - Cllr Kathleen Funchion
Sinn Féin by-election candidate Cllr Kathleen Funchion has stated that only a Sinn Féin TD will strengthen the voice of Carlow Kilkenny at a national level.
She said that tomorrow’s election presents voters in the constituency with a chance to choose Sinn Féin’s progressive political vision over the stale and failed politics of Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Labour Party.
Cllr Funchion said;
“The voices of the people of Carlow Kilkenny will be strengthened only by electing a Sinn Féin TD. We already have TDs from Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael. It is clear that something very different in needed. This constituency needs the dynamic and committed representation provided by Sinn Féin.
“Tomorrow, the people of Carlow and Kilkenny have a chance to make history. However, history is not made by chance but by choice. This by-election presents a clear choice between the stale and failed politics of Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Labour or the progressive politics of change and equality represented by Sinn Féin.
“I want to deliver the effective public representation that this constituency needs in the Dáil.
“By voting for me tomorrow, people will be voting for somebody who knows what it is to struggle to make ends meet.
“I will work for people who are weighed down by the burden of new taxes and cuts that have been forced upon them by this government.
“I will be an advocate for those who go out to work every day, rushing around in the morning, trying to get kids out the door while worrying about bills.
“I will stand up for families that are burdened by mortgages and for mothers who struggle with the cost of childcare.
“I will not remain silent while the people of rural Ireland are treated as second class-citizens.
“We need real solutions to the housing crisis. We need real strategies for delivering decent jobs. Sinn Féin wants to build a successful and sustainable economy, not just in Dublin but right across this island. That is what I want to deliver as part of a strong Sinn Féin team in the Dáil.
“It is time for the people of Carlow Kilkenny to make the change. It is time to back Sinn Féin.”
