Sinn Féin Cllr Natalie Treacy condemns “mindless vandalism”
Sinn Féin councillor for Castleknock Natalie Treacy has condemned the “mindless act of vandalism” that took place in the Millennium Park on Tuesday evening.
Speaking about what happened Cllr. Treacy said:
“At a time when Blakestown/Mountview have just entered into the “Pride of Place” competition and there is so much good work being done by a lot of residents and groups across the community this is disappointing to see.
“For few thugs to come along and try to ruin all the hard work by setting fire to the playground in the Millennium Park is just frustrating.”
“I have been personally involved with the Fortlawn Development group and the Sheepmoorians group.
“I have had meetings with a number of Residents Association groups that have done outstanding work to get our community looking like it does now.
“There has also been fantastic work carried out by Fingal County Council especially in the Millennium Park.
“Unfortunately there will always be a small group of people who will come along and try to ruin all the good work that has been done by others.
“I know for a fact that the hard working residents of our area will not let this stop them from carrying on with their hard work.
“I personally will do whatever it takes through liaising with Fingal County Council and the Gardaí to stop this kind of anti-social behaviour and make sure that our children get the sort of amenities they deserve.”
