Adams expresses condolences at death of Paul Corrigan

6 June, 2015 - by Gerry Adams

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD has expressed his ‘deep sense of sadness at the death of veteran republican Paul Corrigan'.

Mr. Adams said: “Ba mhaith liom mo chomhbhrón a dhéanamh leis an chlann ar fad ar bhás Paul Corrigan.

On behalf of Sinn Féin I want to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Paul’s wife Patricia, and his three children Mary, Ciaran and Enda.

I have known Paul for a very long time. He was one of those who was active in the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s.

Paul was a dedicated republican who gave many years of activism to the struggle for democracy, equality and for Irish unity. He was an exemplary Sinn Féin Councillor and Chair of Fermanagh District Council.

He worked hard on behalf of all the citizens of Fermanagh and served during some of the most difficult years of the conflict.

Paul will be sadly missed by all of us who had the privilege and honour to know him. To Patricia and Mary, Ciaran and Enda and the entire Corrigan clann let me again extend my sincerest condolences.

Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam dílis.”
