Lynn Boylan MEP castigates Kenny and Noonan hypocrisy before European Parliament
Dublin MEP Lynn Boylan has castigated Taoiseach, Enda Kenny and Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan for their hypocrisy when dealing with the latest financial scandal to hit Ireland. The Sinn MEP was addressing the European Parliament in Strasbourg and let fly at both Kenny and Noonan.
Commenting on the latest scandal, Ms. Boylan said:
"While gagging orders were being slapped on our national broadcaster and attempts were being made to undermine Dáil privilege Enda Kenny was nowhere to be found. This, the same Enda Kenny who was quick to defend freedom of press in Paris earlier this year.
Meanwhile Ireland's Finance Minister Michael Noonan was absolving the government of any involvement in the whole saga. The same Michael Noonan, who ruled out support for any debt deal for Greece, was declaring debt write downs 'normal' when it comes to selling assets to powerful friends.
"One thing is certain, once again the Irish taxpayer picks up the tab for corporate greed."
