Magee condemns attack on McGurk's Bar memorial
Sinn Féin councillor JJ Magee has condemned those behind a an attack on a memorial to those killed in the McGurk's Bar bombing.
Councillor Magee said;
"Paint has been thrown on the memorial to those killed in the UVF bomb attack on McGurk's bar which killed 15 people and injured 17 others in December 1971.
"This attack on the memorial plaque on North Queen Street is disgusting and must be condemned.
"This is an insult to all those who were killed and injured in the in McGurk's Bar bombing.
"All memorials should be treated with dignity and respect and should not be targeted in this way.
"I would appeal to anyone with information on this attack to bring it forward to the PSNI."
