11 June, 2015 - by Denise Mitchell

Dublin North Bay Councillor Denise Mitchell has welcomed the announcement from Dublin City Council that there will be a public consultation on parking at Dollymount Beach.

Speaking from Clontarf Councillor Mitchell said,

“There have been numerous issues around parking at Dollymount beach over the years.  Dublin City Council banned parking there last year and it cause widespread concern among residents.

I am delighted to see that Dublin City Council will be investing in the area.  We have a lot of activity on the beach including windsurfing and kite surfing and we want to cater for as many people using the facilities as possible.

I am glad that there are plans to create a permit system for people enjoying these activities.

She further added,

“As well as additional parking facilities, there will a boardwalk, street furniture and a playground.

I visit this beach with my children on a regular basis and this investment will ensure that many more Dubliners can enjoy the beach and adjoining facilities.
