Adams calls for justice and fair treatment for Clerys workers
Sinn Féin Leader Gerry Adams TD has strongly criticised the treatment of workers at the iconic Clerys Department Store which has gone into liquidation.
Gerry Adams said:
"The 130 Clerys workers who have lost their jobs have been treated appallingly.
"These workers, some of whom have worked at Clerys all their adult lives, received no prior notice that their jobs were going.
"The focus now must be on the rights and entitlements of Clerys workers.
"It is vital that the new owners meet the unions and workers' representatives to this end.
"I would appeal to members of the public to lend their support for the Clerys workers in their struggle for justice and fair treatment."
