Sunday opening for City Hall will help boost Belfast - Ó Donnghaile
Sinn Féin councillor Niall Ó Donnghaile has said the decision to open City Hall on Saturdays and Sundays will help boost Belfast's economy.
Speaking after a meeting of Belfast City Council's Strategic Policy and Resources Committee, Councillor Ó Donnghaile said;
"While committee agreed this for a trial run of three months, if ratified by full council I am extremely confident that this move will prove successful and permanent.
"Belfast City Council has put much focus on and invested in our tourism offer. This move can allow tourists, visitors and citizens the opportunity to avail of the tours, history and hospitality of Belfast City Hall.
"There's no doubt it can act as a further driver to entice greater footfall into our city centre and in turn support the local economy even further.
"Belfast aspires to becoming a fully modern, progressive and European city, these moves continue to reflect that."
