Positive engagements needed to achieve resolution - Murphy
Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has said that the space provided by the likely passing of the budget bill must be used positively to resolve the difficulties facing the Executive.
Speaking ahead of a debate on the Budget Bill tomorrow, Mr Murphy said;
"The likely passage of the Budget Bill creates space to find a resolution to the difficulties currently facing the Executive.
"That space now needs to be used imaginatively and positively to make sure that the Stormont House Agreement is fully implemented and that the Executive has workable and sustainable finances.
"We need a united voice coming from the Assembly and the Executive, as well as positive and innovative engagement by the British and Irish governments"
"The British Government must not be allowed to squander this opportunity to resolve these matters and deliver a workable and sustainable budget for the Executive, our public services, our people and our economy."
