Cllr Chris Andrews joins residents in South Inner City protesting against unsafe drivers
Sinn Féin Councillor Chris Andrews has joined residents in Eblana Villas in Dublin's South Inner City who have had enough of unsafe, reckless drivers using their estate as a short cut.
Speaking today, Cllr. Andrews said:
“Since the Samuel Beckett Bridge has opened, the traffic on Macken Street has increased significantly so cars and HGVs are using Eblana Villas as a short cut.
“Dublin City Council has signs up showing there is no through road but too many people are ignoring it making the roads unsafe for residents.
“This is too common problem in estates around Sandymount, Ringsend and Irishtown and now residents are making a stand and telling motorists that enough is enough.
“I am supporting residents and it is great to see communities being proactive and standing up for their community.”
