Gerry Adams has written to the Minister for Finance seeking a full Statement on the sale of NAMA northern loan book
Gerry Adams TD, President of Sinn Féin has written to the Minister Finance seeking that a full statement is made to the Dáil on the sale of the NAMA northern loan book.
Teachta Adams said:
“Over the past number of days we have had a series of allegations relating to the sale of the NAMA loan book in the North. We have also had a number of statements from NAMA and others. The Minister for Finance has yet to make a full statement on the sale.
“It should be remembered that this sale was the largest by NAMA in which loans with a par value of £4.5billion was sold at a huge discount for £1.3billion.
“I have now written to the Minister requesting that he seeks the permission of Ceann Comhairle to make a full statement on this sale.
“It is not good enough that the Government remains silent on this issue which has handed on a massive loss to citizens.”
