McKay calls special meeting of Assembly Finance Committee
Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has called on anyone with information on the allegations made by Mick Wallace TD last week in Leinster House to come before the Assembly’s Finance Committee.
Speaking ahead of a special meeting of the committee tomorrow, the Finance Committee chair said;
"Given the serious nature of the allegations made in Leinster House, I called for an emergency meeting of the Finance Committee to be convened to consider its response.
"The committee will now meet tomorrow morning to discuss these allegations.
"It is important the committee looks into these claims given the significance of the sale of the NAMA assets for the local economy.
"As part of this examination I would expect Cerberus to appear before the committee.
"I would intend to call on NAMA officials and Mick Wallace to appear before the committee as well as the law firm involved to elaborate on their recent statement on the matter.
"However, I am also calling on anyone who has any information which would shed any light on these transactions to come forward to the committee.
"These allegations need to be explored as soon as possible in the interests of transparency and accountability."
