Council concern over implications for Moore Street with Chartered Land sale- Cllr Mac Donncha
Sinn Féin councillor Mícheál Mac Donncha has welcomed the passing by Dublin City Council of an emergency motion expressing concern over the implications for the 1916 battlefield site at Moore Street due to the imminent sale of the Chartered Land property portfolio.
"The Council has mandated the Chief Executive to seek an urgent meeting with NAMA as there is serious concern about what will happen to Moore St and the 1916 Battlefield site.
We are also calling in Minister Heather Humphreys to intervene and this needs to happen as soon as possible. The danger is that a new owner could come in and start demolition. This must be prevented."
