Committee backs McKay's call to begin inquiry on NAMA sale
Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has said the Finance Committee investigation into allegations made by Mick Wallace in Leinster House last week has started to contact those involved in the transactions.
Speaking after a meeting of the Assembly's Finance Committee, the committee chair said;
"At today's emergency meeting of the Finance Committee it was agreed to begin the process of investigating the claims made by independent TD Mick Wallace in Leinster House last week.
"All parties at the meeting were in agreement on the need to get to the bottom of this issue as soon as possible.
"We have already started contacting all of those involved in this transaction to come before the committee.
"That includes NAMA officials, Mick Wallace, Tughans as well as others who may have information on the transactions.
"I am hopeful that committee will meet again next week.
"It is important the committee looks into these claims as soon as possible given the significance of the sale of the NAMA asserts for the local economy.
"I would urge anyone with information on these transactions to make themselves available to come before the committee."
