Sinn Féin - On Your Side

New Sinn Féin Office in Ballyjamesduff

20 July, 2015 - by Kathryn Reilly, Noel Connell

Sinn Féin officially opened their new office at 10 Market Street, Ballyjamesduff on Saturday. Speaking to a crowd of nearly 50 people, Councillor Noel Connell and Senator Kathryn Reilly opened the tape of the second Sinn Féin office in County Cavan, which is now open to the public.

Senator Reilly said:

“Sinn Féin is growing in Cavan and this new office is evidence of that expansion and of our commitment to providing an effective, available constituency service. Over the past few years there has been a marked increase in the number of people coming to our office in Cavan, contacting our councillors directly, and seeking help with problems.

“The increased number of people contacting us is endemic of two things, the realisation of how approachable and hardworking Sinn Fein elected officials are, and also of the failures of the current and previous government to deliver for the people of Cavan.

“The reality of unemployment, lack of investment, attacks on rural Ireland, cuts to services, and antipathy towards the agriculture industry, amongst many other failures, has shown the people of Cavan, and of Ireland, that Sinn Féin is the only political alternative and the only party that can deliver a fair recovery for all.

“Sinn Féin is becoming more and more relevant to people and our national growth is reflected by the increased number of people contacting us throughout Cavan.

Councillor Noel Connell said:

“My ethos since becoming a councillor is about making sure the work of the council is taken to the people as well as making sure councillors are available to the needs of people. This year, I was made the Cathaoirleach of Ballyjamesduff Municipal District and as such, opening this office and being central to the needs of the communities I represent is critical to my work.

“Sinn Féin has always been at the heart of the communities it represents and this office is just the physical manifestation of that. There is increasing demand for our services and for assistance. I would encourage anyone with any issues or problems to call into us or contact us directly.”
