Fingal Sinn Féin candidate Louise O’Reilly: “Swords Festival Huge Success”
Sinn Féin General Election candidate for FingalLouise O’Reilly has attended the Fingal County Council, Swords Summer Festival, which she has deemed to be a “huge success”.
Speaking today Ms O’Reilly said:
“Swords is a town steeped in history which deserves to be celebrated.
It’s great to see that being utilised with the reopening of the castle. Massive well done to all the work the Fingal Events team have done in putting this together – great job. It’s better than we could have expected.”
“The Swords Summer Festival launched on Friday 17th July and ran through until Sunday 19th on Swords Main street.
“Bands and other stage acts, bouncy castles and family fun along with the opening of the Swords Castle exhibiting ‘Archaeofests and WWI Displays’, among other exhibitions contributed to the atmosphere.
“There’s a fantastic sense of community about the place. Local business owners have done a great job accommodating festival goers. It’s brilliant to see this end of the town rejuvenated and brought back to life."
Ms. O'Reilly continued:
"Events like this are crucial for reawakening small towns all over the North County, and country, which have become stagnant through hard times. We want to see them opened again and brought back to life. Town morale, employment and local economies will prosper as a result and get Ireland back in action. Well done to all involved last weekend, first of many to come!”
