Louise O’Reilly hosts public meeting in Fingal on Fair Recovery
Dublin Fingal election candidate Louise O’Reilly has hosted a public meeting in Balbriggan on how Sinn Féin plans to implement a Fair Recovery if in government after the next election.
The packed meeting, which was addressed by Dublin’s MEP Lynn Boylan, tackled issues including investment in public services and the mortgage arears crisis.
Speaking tonight Louise O’Reilly said:
“This is the first of a number of meetings which will be held in Fingal to show people that there is an alternative to the one-sided austerity policies inflicted on citizens by this government. Politics can be reformed to make sure that politicians work for the people and that they are accountable. We want to show people that a recovery based on fairness and equity is possible.”
“Working parents are under tremendous pressure – they are not being listened to and the crisis in childcare continues. Likewise we want to see our emigrants return but they have to have decent jobs and not schemes to return to. How can we expect emigrants to come home when this government have ensured that the housing crisis is getting worse?”
“Sinn Fein’s stance is clear and transparent – we cannot have a one sided recovery which ignore low and middle income families – we have to have a recovery where no citizen, young or old, is left behind.
“A vote for Sinn Fein in the next election is a vote for those who stand up for the workers in Aer Lingus, who stand with the people against water charges and who stand up our public services and those who provide them. The people of Fingal are ready for change and Sinn Fein are ready to be part of that change”.
