Hazzard relieved no one injured in fishing boat collision
Sinn Féin MLA Chris Hazzard has expressed relief that no one was injured during an incident where two fishing boats collided off the coast of Ardglass this morning.
The South Down MLA said;
"Thankfully no one was injured in this incident off the coast of Ardglass this morning when two fishing boats collided.
"It must have been a very frightening experience for those on board both fishing boats.
"Luckily the crew of the vessel which sank were rescued by the other boat and tragedy was avoided.
"This incident once again highlights the dangers faced by our fishing fleets on a daily basis.
"I would also pay tribute to the crew of the Newcastle lifeboat who responded to this incident and helped bring both crews safely to shore."
