Ní Chuilín slams sectarian paint bomb attack in Ardoyne

14 August, 2015 - by Carál Ní Chuilín

Sinn Féin MLA for North Belfast has condemned the sectarian attack on family homes in Ardoyne last night which involved a number of paint bombs being thrown.

Speaking today Ms Ní ChuilIn said:

“There is no justification whatsoever for the paint bomb attacks on four homes last night in Ardoyne.

“This is a sectarian attack and is aimed at raising tensions in the area over the summer months. People should recognise it as that. No one, especially our young people, should be drawn in to any form of retaliation.

“Sinn Féin have contacted Belfast Council who will be out in the coming days to clean up the damage to these properties.

“I would urge unionist leaders in the north of the city to use whatever influence they have to ensure that such actions do not happen again. There is a responsibility on us all to ensure that people can live free from sectarian harassment and intimidation.”
