Micheál Martin putting narrow party interests before Peace Process - Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD

24 August, 2015 - by Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD

Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh has accused the Fianna Fail Leader Micheál Martin of “putting Fianna Fáil’s narrow party political interests before the imperative of the peace process.”

Teachta Ó Snodaigh said:

“Michael Martin’s shameful claims that the IRA is involved in fundraising for Sinn Féin, gathering intelligence and ‘community control’ are outrageous and disgraceful.

“In his desperation to distract from Fianna Fáil’s irresponsible management of the economy; its poor showings in opinion polls; and its inadequate policies, the Fianna Fáil leader has chosen to attack Sinn Féin.

“He is also running scared of Sinn Féin’s alternative policy proposals for a fair recovery.

“Mr Martin is deliberately putting at risk decades of hard work in building the peace. If he has any evidence to support any of his contemptible claims then he has a responsibility to bring it to An Garda Siochána.”
