Tánaiste would rather talk about imagined IRA than this week’s mass protest against water charges – Stanley
Sinn Féin TD Brian Stanley said the Tánaiste Joan Burton should deal with real issues facing people like water charges rather than talking about an organisation that doesn’t exist and using it to attack her political opponents.
Speaking today after the Tánaiste issued a statement attacking Sinn Féin, Deputy Stanley said;
“As the government faces into another mass protest on water charges the Tánaiste would rather focus on an imagined IRA than deal with the real issues facing people.
“People see through this manufactured outrage for what it is - an attempt to deflect from real issues.
“The reality is that the organisation the Joan Burton refers to no longer exists.
“With the Labour Party support decimated in the opinion polls it is no surprise that both their leader and deputy leader have attacked Sinn Féin this week in a cynical and self-serving way.
“Sinn Féin has repeatedly said that anyone with information about criminality should bring that to the PSNI or the Gardaí.”
