McCorley welcomes Líofa GAA launch in Croke Park

3 September, 2015 - by Rosie McCorley

Sinn Féin MLA Rosie McCorley has welcomed the launch of the Líofa campaign in Croke Park last night by Culture Minister Carál Ní Chuilín.

Ms McCorley said;

"This latest initiative by Culture Minister Carál Ní Chuilín, together with the GAA, will see the Líofa campaign rolled out throughout GAA clubs right across the island.

"The minister and the GAA are to be praised for this new phase of the Líofa campaign.

"Already the Líofa campaign has exceeded all expectations and the latest target is to have 20,000 people signed up by 2020 and, working with the GAA, I have no doubt that target will be met.

"I look forward to working with the GAA and Líofa in the future to spread Irish language and culture to as wide an audience as possible.”
