Answers needed on appointments to NAMA advisory panel
Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has said questions need to be answered about how appointments were made to NAMA's northern advisory panel.
Mr McKay said
"The Finance Committee has seen no evidence of the specific criteria used to make appointments to one of the most powerful positions in local business, NAMA's northern advisory committee.
"The Department of Finance and Personnel and the then finance minister, Sammy Wilson, need to explain how appointments were made to the advisory committee.
"They cannot remain silent on this important issue. They must confirm once and for all if they have any information relating to how candidates were shortlisted for this position.
"Serious allegations have been made about the sale of NAMA’s northern portfolio. The public deserves to know what the department’s process was for making its appointments.”
